Support for you in your home
Our special online support event offers understanding, encouragement and support to any parent who has suffered the death of their child, in any circumstance and at any age.
The worst loss a parent ever has to face is the death of a son or daughter. Children are ‘not supposed to die’. But sometimes they do – and the extent of pain and devastation, even isolation, experienced by parents when a child dies is unimaginable.
Whether you join us on your own or as a couple, you’ll be able to meet others who understand the heartache you are going through. Many have found that these events can make a huge difference in helping them cope both now and as they think about the future.
Meet Jane and Dave, our Bereaved Parent Support Coordinators.
The day will be led by members of the Bereaved Parent befriending team who have all experienced the loss of a child. Whether your son or daughter died last week, last month, or years ago, they will help you on the difficult journey of grieving. If you have ever felt that no-one else understands how you feel, this support event is for you.
We want delegates at our support events to feel they are in a safe place. During this online event, you‘ll be participating from the comfort of your own home.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Hear from other parents who have suffered the death of a child
- Share your story in a small breakout room with others who really understand
- Discover practical ways to work through the pain of bereavement and loss
- Receive comfort, hope and help for the journey ahead
Dave and Jane Park are Care for the Family’s Bereaved Parent Support Coordinators. They lost their middle son Ben, then aged eleven, in 2003, and know how difficult life can be following bereavement.
Our online support events cost £15* and bookings are made through Eventbrite.
The events take place on Zoom. Once booked we will send you full details of how to access the event, together with a delegate pack containing everything you’ll need to make the event a unique and supportive experience.
Please see our frequently asked questions page for further information.
* We never want money to be the reason you are unable to access our resources and support, and due to the generosity of our Partners, we are able to offer a limited number of complimentary tickets for each event. So, if selecting the complimentary ticket rate would make it possible for you to attend, please choose that option.
