Train to run our specialist course to support and encourage parents and carers of children with additional needs

The Children with Additional Needs course aims to help parents build their child’s self-esteem and develop good communication skills. With an understanding that each child develops individually, we look at ways to meet the needs of their child and how to set and maintain boundaries. We also explore what schools and other agencies can offer children with special needs and their parents, and how the wider family plays a part. The course is aimed at children aged 3 to 11 years and also includes add-on sessions for parents of children with ADHD and on the autism spectrum.

‘The course is excellent. I don’t think you could possibly fit anything else in!’

The Time Out for Parents: Children with Additional Needs training will take you through the materials and activities of the seven supportive and informal main sessions. This training is only available to our core licenced facilitators. To become a licenced facilitator, you will need to attend our Time Out for Parents Facilitator training. Once you gain a core facilitator licence you can book on to this training.

About our online training

We provide our licensed facilitators with ongoing support by phone and email with our Community Training team, and through our dedicated web pages, facilitator newsletters and Facebook group. Facilitators will also have access to additional online training for the ASD and ADHD course sessions.
