Our support day offers understanding, encouragement and support to any parent who has suffered the death of a son or daughter in any circumstance and at any age
The worst loss a parent ever has to face is the death of a son or daughter.
Children are ‘not supposed to die’. But sometimes they do – and the extent of the pain and devastation, even isolation, experienced by parents when a child dies is unimaginable.
Whether you attend on your own or as a couple, you’ll be able to meet others who understand the heartache you are going through. Many have found that these events can make a huge difference in helping them cope both now and as they think about the future.
Whether they died last week, last month, or years ago, if we can help you on the difficult ‘journey’ of grieving, we would love you to join us. If you have ever felt that no-one else understands the pain, heartache and the devastation you feel since your son or daughter died, this day is for you.
Meet Jane and Dave, our Bereaved Parent Support Coordinators
As well as having times to share informally over refreshments and lunch, during the sessions you will have opportunity to:
- Meet and share with other parents who have suffered the death of a child
- Discover practical ways to work through the pain of bereavement and loss
- Receive comfort, hope and help for the journey ahead
The day will be led by our Bereaved Parent Support Coordinators Dave and Jane Park and their team. They lost their middle son Ben, then aged eleven, in 2003, and know how difficult life can be following bereavement.
‘It was helpful just being able to meet and talk with other dads who are experiencing the same pain and are not afraid to admit it.’
The cost of attending one of our Bereaved Parent Support Days is £22 per person (£37.50 couple rate). This includes lunch and refreshments.
We never want money to be the reason you are unable to access our resources and support, and due to the generosity of our Partners, we are able to offer a limited number of complimentary tickets for each event. So, if selecting the complimentary ticket rate would make it possible for you to attend, please choose that option.
Please see our frequently asked questions page for further information.
We regret that it is generally not possible to provide refunds due to our financial commitment to the venue.
